Journal Review
With the growing number of informational sources it is becoming ever more imperative that students enter the world with an ability to evaluate the information they are presented or are consuming.
Specifically, students must be able to identify fact from opinion or editorial. Students should be able to find and use a variety of comparative sources and evaluate informational premises to establish source integrity and product veracity.
Action Plan:
Educational Institutions will need to undergo instructor training and provide student training to improve critical evaluation of a variety of news and media products. Students should scrutinize presented information to identify factual information, editorial information and bias.
Educational content providers will be expected to provide standardized training to both educators and to students that meet quality standards with the goal of instilling a competence in analytical evaluation of informational sources. Educational materials should be fairly priced and free from overt marketing bias.
